The National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics, IMPA, held the 1st Workshop on
Mathematics Integrated to Industry
and Technological Innovation
November 10-11, 2014
São José dos Campos
The goal of this event is to create productive partnerships among industry, government, educational institutions, research centers, development agencies, investment funds and venture capital, interested in the application of mathematical tools by industry, mainly in the field of applied research and innovation, resulting in an improvement in the competitiveness of Brazilian industry.
The integrated mathematics industry is a new area that has emerged within mathematics itself in order to get answers to new problems that the industry has to present in front of their own evolution and dynamics of technological innovation
The solution to several of these problems depends directly on the development and application of new mathematical tools and qualification of human resources capable of modeling such problems and propose solutions.
Identifies lack of professionals who can master these tools, which highlighted the need to support the realization of such events, capable of industries and academic institutions.
